Hello Reader,
A couple weeks ago I got back from the International Conference on ADHD in Anaheim, CA. and wow — it was an intense experience!
While I left feeling a little drained, I gained some valuable insights and connections often easier when you step into a totally different environment!
Nervous Systems: Care + Feeding
One of my favorite sessions was on nervous system regulation. It’s a topic I’m deeply passionate about, and I picked up some new tools to help both myself and my clients move out of hypo- and hyper-arousal states. Tapping sequences and other physical practices stood out as practical ways to find balance when energy levels feel “off.”
I overdid it the first day and a half. Too much stimulation after too little for too long. Took Friday night off and recharged by myself. Right decision and i hit the ground running Saturday.
Community + Connection
One highlight of the of the trip: 3 days of being around like-minded people. I met with other notable to me professions, including:
- Virtual assistants specializing in ADHD entrepreneurs
- Coaches focused on job seekers
- A whole sea of people with similar brains. It was quite a change from working by myself at home
The experience reminded me of the joy in collaboration. These connections fill gaps in my professional network and open doors to new possibilities.
ADHD + AI
Another session explored the concept of using AI tools to support ADHD. While it didn’t deliver as many insights or approaches as I’d hoped, it reinforced some essential points:
- AI is a powerful helper, but you remain in control of your decisions. It can help with Executive Function, but it is not you!
- Be mindful of security when using AI tools to manage personal or professional task–this is a rapidly emerging field.
This session also inspired me to keep experimenting with tech to find creative, ADHD-friendly solutions.
Sun + November…More Please
There’s something about November sunshine that feels like a reset button. Being in that warm, vibrant environment made me feel like a different person—more energized, open, and creative. It was a gift to experience that energy, even if I overdid it early on and needed the quiet by the end.
What About You?
This trip has me curious:
- What’s something you’ve learned about regulating your energy?
- Have you felt the pull toward novelty or growth recently?
I’d love to hear your thoughts—reply to this email and let’s chat!

PS: As I’m sitting here editing. I recognized I was super irritable for unknown reasons. Hungry? Understimulated?
I was struggling to finish editing. Suddenly irrationally irritable at nothing, I made the decision to step away and eat lunch instead of pushing through for another 15 minutes. I thought about the 3 Keynote speaker +All very successful individuals with ADHD+ : Penn Holderness, Kojo Sarfo and Sasha Hamdane, MD and how they each faced huge hurdles: failing out of Medical School, losing jobs and now are open and on stage still be amazing at what they’re doing and openly struggling in other areas. As Dr. Sarfo says: Keep going!
